Braden began diving at 9 years old after trying the one meter springboard during swim lessons. After diving in springboard and platform events throughout highschool and college Braden transitioned into competing in 27 meter high diving and cliff diving events. Braden loves the adrenaline rush that comes with every high dive and the adventure of diving in new spots around the world.

SOPHIE DERBYSHIRE - SPRINGBOARD

Picture
My name is Sophie and I specialize in springboard events. I was a competitive gymnast and swimmer until I was thirteen but began diving at age nine.
I started diving in Dunedin after watching an event on the t.v and being confident that it would be easy for me to pick up. My family moved to Wellington when I was fifteen, and in 2025 I was awarded with the World Aquatics Diving Scholarship to train in Toronto. I am now based in Wellington where I am studying a double degree in Law, International Relations and French. I really enjoy the feeling of flying, perfecting my dives and competing.
